I just came across these two girls, who I've decided have made my list of heroes. They are cute, they are hilarious, and they play many musical instruments. Rock on, ladies!

Nevada City's Bizarre Attempts at Modernization
Nevada City is trying to get GOOGLE to pilot a new high-speed internet in our tiny little town. While I applaud the effort, the approach was somewhat...well...Nevada County.
First, we brought out the fire brigade
Next, the cyclists!
Here comes the mob!
Here come the wreaths?
and the giant beach balls?
Oh, clever...CLEVER...
"We're the right fit for Google Bit!"
Nevada County is so great!

It's a Boy! Or...a Girl!
I went to my friend Jaclyn Murray's baby shower on Saturday. (Jaclyn is Jessica's (my roommate/friend since I was 11) little sister. I thought it was crazy when my own friends started having babies, but it turns out it is much crazier when their younger siblings start doing it. :)
Gloria and Gina (Jessica's mom and other sister) really outdid themselves.
The party was so cute and fun.
The Hall Sisters...+1 TBA
Gloria always has the cutest decorations
Game that will not be played at any shower I may have

Sorry about the Academy Awards, Avatar...
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned:
She took it all, INCLUDING your Oscars.
At least you're a kagillionaire.

Dear Weather, F@*& you!
I like warm weather; I don't like rain. This is a problem because I live in San Francisco. Last week I noticed the first signs of Spring, and it was BEAUTIFUL in Davis yesterday, but all of that was nothing but a tease, as this is what I found on the steps of my home when I came home from work:
So much hail that it may as well have been snow
WTF, San Francisco?
W.T.F?!

Extreme Guess Who
My soul mate, Rusty Pierce, created one of the best games in the entire world:
Extreme Guess Who
This game is played with regular Guess Who supplies, but instead of asking questions such as,
"Is your person wearing a hat?" or, "Does your person have a mustache?" players ask questions like,
"Does your person make his/her own jam at home?"
or,
"Does your person carry an umbrella with him/her at all times, even if it's not raining?"
and,
"Is your person currently experiencing a bad smell?"
Players answer yes or no based on the character's appearance, and it essentially boils down to a game that uses stereotypes, which is terrible...but sometimes (usually) funny.
"Does your person still use VHS?"

I Love Sacramento?
Lee and I went to look at a potential living arrangement for the end of the summer. I LOVED the place we saw, and I would have signed any and all paper work placed in front of me if it weren't for the fact that I will be unemployed come June 30th, and making any financial commitments before I find a new job is, well, the worst idea ever. I told the property manager that I would contact her as soon as I knew about any jobs, and that hopefully the unit would still be available at that time. :(
Lee could tell that I loved the place, and that I was pissed that I still don't have a job, so he took me to The Tower Cafe in Midtown Sacramento. It was so cute and so great! The whole thing is full of flowers and statues and art from all around the world, plus I had the best chai in the world. I didn't manage to get a picture of the inside of the restaurant, but here is a picture of the tower outside:
He wins at boyfriending
