Weekend in Davis (#4,376)

This weekend was my turn to drive to Davis.  Lee and I went on an actual dinner-and-a-movie date on Saturday night, and we ended up eating at a place called Burgers and Brew.  I LOVED Burgers and Brew, and I highly recommend it!  Lee and I both ordered our favorite kinds of beer (His: Arrogant Bastard, Mine: Root) and had super good burgers!  I am SOOO glad I'm no longer on that vegetarian kick!

Also, I ended up at Jamba Juice one morning, and I guess the staff there had some time to kill, as these are what they have created out of Jamba cups and packaging:

Clearly, these are signs of some inefficient time management, but I can't judge because I've been known to spend entire shifts working for a certain framing store where I did nothing but build paper airplanes. Also, I love that lizard(?)!

Rain in Kindergarten

We have had 6 days straight of rainy-day recess.  That means the students are trapped inside during their free time, and I am left at the mercy of 20 five year olds.  Our school librarian tried to capitalize on the terrible weather by reading books about rain.  It was during one of her read-alouds that she asked the students,

"What can keep you dry besides an umbrella?"

 Answers included:

"A BLUE umbrella"

"A tiny umbrella"

 "Putting your hand like THIS!" (student covers head with one hand)
 "A rain coat!"

"A PINK raincoat with PONY stickers."

Kindergarten is funny.

I'm Back!

It's new year, and I've vowed (resoluted?) to write in my blog more often in 2010. Not surprisingly, I've also resoluted to go to the gym more often. Tonight I went to the gym and ran FOUR MILES! FOUR MILES! I know that isn't a long way by any stretch, but I really don't like running, so I was pretty proud of myself. I felt great, I felt accomplished, I felt...well, REALLY hot and sweaty. Good for me!

Now I am sitting in my bed, eating macaroni and cheese, and typing this. Fail.
