I finally caved and went to the driving range with Lee.

Step one: tokens

Step 2: grab balls (hee, hee)

Step 3: Choose your station?

Step 4: Swing away!

Lee and I both had important goals for the afternoon:

Lee tried to tee off into this cart

and I tried not to flash anyone

One of us was successful...

Playdough!

I took on the task of making playdough from scratch with my students

Professional playdough-making supplies

The children were riveted by my flour measuring explanation

I was accused of adding eggs when they weren't looking

Everyone got a chance to stir

Then this happened

We heated it on the stove

and added food coloring

Success!

Rain Delay

I won tickets to a Giants game on the radio! 

Unfortunately, it was raining, but that didn't stop us...

Oh wait.  It DID stop us.

This is my "rain delay" face, and Lee's "I got a free magnet!" face.

It wasn't a total bust; however:

This guy had it WAY worse than we did

Plus, I had this celebrity sighting!

Four hours later, and it was game on!

Jordan

This girl is in my class:

While it may look like she is in physical pain, Jordan is actually so excited about being on our farm field trip that she is pulling at her hair.

The other day she showed me a hairdo she created while eating lunch in the cafeteria:

  She told me if I ever wanted to recreate this look all I had to do was turn my hair in a circle over and over again.

She is so funny I can hardly stand it.

Happy Easter!

A student gave me a plastic egg today and told me it was FULL of candy. LOTS OF CANDY! 

 I opened it to find all the Transformer chewable vitamins that a person could ever hope for.

Disc Golf

Jon and Lee love disc golf.  They can throw a disc across a football field.  I can throw one near my feet.  It was fun anyway.

Hiking to the tee? hole? starting point?  Whatever.

Jon points out my disc which has, predictably, ended up in some bushes.

Happy Birthday, Happy Jack!

My friend from camp celebrated his birthday by going to the preseason game between the Giants and the A's.

 In case there was any doubt, Jack is an A's fan.

 I am a Giants fan

And Jon is a ninja?

Lee, Jon, and Sherwood spent a majority of their time trying (and succeeding) to take creepy pictures together.

Not so creepy

You're getting warmer...
